I was given a procedure that has me use _progress mydb -pf /home/prousr/pf/mydb.pf
then it gives me the steps to [FONT=&amp]load the data definitions[/FONT] by loading the dot df files within the text interface. Is there a way (program) in progress that will do the same thing without a text interface?
a quick search of the documents turned up a lot of reading but little in knowledge.

If without text interface you mean without any interface - as opposed to possibly with a GUI interface - then the answer is yes (we use it for automatically upgrading databases at customer sites). Search the ProKB for 'load df'
