-minport|-maxport Startup parameters

Hi all,

Has anyone used or is anyone familiar with these parameters? I'm guessing they were new with Version 8.3C. We noticed that our deployed databases were causing a tcp port conflict with another application that we deploy. In the database log files were default entries for these parameters setting a range that conflicted with the other application. What I would like to find out is, how large of a range of ports should I define for them? We have 6 db's on this customer's server and each of them has the same range of 2001 ports as the defaults.

We are using -minport and -maxport startup parameters on Progress 8.3B. You can allocate any number of ports outside the default range so it would not conflict with your other applications.
