Hi,

We have two servers.

Server1 is running Progress V9.1B and Server2 is running Progress V9.1D.
We want to upgrade Server1 from Progress V9.1B to V9.1D.

What is the procedure to do this?

Now i am trying to copy files from "/data1/appln/pro91b2"(location of V9.1D files) from server2 to server1. When i am running
"$DLC/bin/_mprosrv " then it is ok.
but when i am running "$DLC/bin/_progress" then it is producing errors
tty/***.r value was corrupted.

Thank You.

Why do you want to upgrade from an ancient unsupported release of PROGRESS to a slightly less ancient (but still unsupported) release of PROGRESS.

The latest rendition of V9.1 is 9.1E which is still ancient but is supported.

If there is some reason for not upgrading to a current release, you should be looking to get 9.1E installed.

Have you tried re-compiling the source code?

As Stuart says, both of those releases are ancient, obsolete and unsupported. You should upgrade to at least 9.1E service pack 4. It is 5 years old and "supported" in theory. Better yet upgrade to 10.2A.

Anyhow... how are you copying the files from server to server? Are you perhaps using FTP and forgetting to transfer them as binary files?
