Abhack: How Do I Run It?

Unix / Windows
v11.3

I downloaded the files for ABHack and the instructions reference running it via Protools, but the "ABHack" option is not on my Protools menu.

How do I get it to the Protools menu / run it?

If I try running the files manually I get an error about "protools/<file.i> not found.

I think modifying the protools.dat file is necessary, but I can't find where that file is located on the Windows machine. Much easier to find things on Unix or Mac.

I modified the protools.dat file to call a program, now I need to know which ABHack program to call. Any help would be appreciated.

The program to run is called "ABHackWin.w". It is found in protools/abhack.

Regarding modifying protools.dat, did you try this method for Windows?:

1) Run PRO*Tools.
2) If the "File" menu is not available right-click a button and select "Menu Bar".
3) Select "File-> Customise...".
4) Select the "Add" button. Label: ABHack, Program: protools/abhack/ABHackWin.w and Image: protools/abhack/tux.bmp.
5) OK and Yes to the message to overwrite ...protools.dat.
6) The button should now appear on ProTools and you just click to run.
