PROREST from tape problem

Hi,

I have 2 IBM RS6000 F50 machines. Both with 4mm 12/24 (DDS3) dat drives.
I have run a prorest to tape on one machine and am trying to restore it to the other. Although everything seems the same the job fails with the following error.

NB - The versions of progress (8.3B) and AIX (4.2) are the same.

I have borrowed a DDS4 drive and the prorest passes the prorest -vp.

I would appreciate any help on this matter.

Many thanks

You could try using the -vs parameter to specify the tape volume size, though I must confess I have never seen this behaviour in Progress.
