OK, here is more on the PA-RISC to IA64 migration. There are two KB articles that directly reference this migration and directly contradict one another: knowledgebase.progress.com/.../P132598 knowledgebase.progress.com/.../P44220 So assuming that our dba was at least correct as-of the time we made the migration, it proves that Progress is theoretically able to facilitate these platform changes when they need to. I imagine a lot of PA-RISC customers were complaining about the prospects of a dump/reload (especially when it would have been as a result of the Progress decision to stop supporting that chipset).
