Designs, programs, tests, documents, and implements simple to highly complex applications that meet requirements and support the business needs of Network Services. Including development of new web-based applications, as well as, enhancements and support of existing applications. In addition, support of existing client server applications is required. Adheres to all applicable development and testing guidelines and techniques. Keeps abreast of technological developments, relevant to our industry and comments potential initiatives that would ensure that Network Services is appropriately positioned to effectively take advantage of opportunities as business needs arise. Support various user groups needs relating to application support. Work with various user groups and/or individuals to translate business needs for small to moderate business problems into technical requirements.
Requirements include:
Knowledge in gathering requirements, functional design, and working with business processes. Technical knowledge including knowledge of relevant technology, tools, data base methods and middleware. Strong verbal and written skills.
Strong analytical skills to translate business requirements into specifications
2-5 years development and analytical experience. Minimum of 2 years experience with Progress development tools and databases. Knowledgeable of MS products (Office, Outlook, Win NT). Knowledgeable in relational databases such as MS Sequel Server. Good interpersonal, oral/written communication, and organizational skills. Experience with Actuate a plus.
Bachelor degree in related discipline. Insurance related background desired but not required.
