Can ANYONE help ?
I know nothing of Progress (8.3b) and almost the same about Oracle. I left Mainframe DBs about 20 years ago.
Problem:
I have an existing Progress DB (lets use the sample Sports.db that comes with Progress), and an application that need to continue using it.
A new application is being introduced that uses Oracle 8i (both residing on the same NT server). I need to let the new application which accesses the Oracle DB have access to the Progress DB. So I need a sort of alias between the two DB. For example the Customer Table in sports.db can be read and updated by the new Oracle 8i application.
I thought going to Progress>Data Administration>Data Server>Oracle Utilities was going to do it but when I get there everything but *schema migration tools* is greyed out.
Can anyone take me through this step by step ?
Thanks
Warwick
