At this moment we use Progress 9.1D patch 6 and are considering an upgrade to 9.1E. Does anyone have experience with that upgrade?
Thanks for your feedbak.

You might find the updateable browser fires triggers in different ways.

We find every Progress service pack breaks the browser in a slightly different way.

We have updated to progress 9.1E and Syteline 6.02.10 on Friday 13th October. The system is now very slow to the point that our purchasing department is saying that the system is unusable.
INFOR have been web-ex 'd in most of the week but have not yet found a reason. It may well be something set up incorrectly rather than the versions but we are pulling our hair out at the moment.
I would be interested to hear from anyone using the same version as us for response times.

Well, first of all: Never upgrade on Friday the 13th :awink:

We have customers of ours both on 9.1d06, 9.1d09, 9.1E and 9.1E04. If there is any difference in repsonse time then the response times are better in the 9.1E versions. But anyway no significant difference in response time between these versions with our application.

Did you already figured out what is slow? Disk IO, System resources.

Did you monitor with sar/promon/vmstat/iostat to find the culprit?
(Do you have windows or Unix/inux platform for database?

Changed anything in the DB parameters. Anything else recntly installed on the same machine?

Different disk setup?

Regards,

Casper.

The most obvious way to end up with really slow response time after an upgrade would be if the upgrade replaced a previous installation that was using properties files to hold parameters. Important tuning adjustments that had previously been made could be very easily lost that way.

-spin would be suspect number one.
