Hi,

I was wondering if there is a utility and/or command that can be used to kill a user when their PC crashes and a record is still locked?

Hi Ray,

Yes just log onto the database server, and run the PROMON command. This will display a menu to see all kinds of information about the database. Select option "8", shutdown database. This will display all of the user connections. Select option "1", disconnect a user, then enter the number of the user in the list. This will kill that session and release any record locks they have.
