Progress & Windows XP

Hi All

This is my first time here, so I hope I don't do anything too silly :)

We are currently testing WIndows XP, with a view to upgrading our desktop.
We run an application that uses Progress 9.1B -about to upgrade to 9.1C- & it is failing with the following errors.

Mstartup.p Database <dbname> not connected (1006)
Unable to run startup procedure mstartup.p (492)

We've looked on the KB but aren't too sure what the results mean!!
Sorry, but we have no Progress DBA...don't ask!!

I'm a Unix sys admin, so it's come to me to fix!!

Any assistance would be gratefully accepted.

TIA
Sue

it seems your mstartup.p procedure needs some database. You better make the connection before, in your .pf file like this :

-db database -H DBhost -S DBservice -N TCP

Good luck

I would stick with win 2000 until the first couple service packs are available for win XP.
