How to tell if HPUX 11 Progress 7.3x is 32 bit or 64 bit

The Progress version do not identify whether the installed Progress 7.3x is 32 bit or 64 bit product. Is there any way to get the get the information ?

That's easy. It's 32 bit.

I believe that somewhere around 8.3 Progress released a 64 bit HPUX product.

Usually you would use the "file" command to check an executable's bitness. Offhand I don't know what HPUX's output looks like in such a case but the general rule of thumb for most OS' is that if it doesn't specify then it is 32 bits.

You know how I tell people that Progress version 9.1 is "ancient, obsolete and unsupported"? Words fail me when it comes to 7.3 but you might want to check carefully because 7.3c01 is not only all of that but it is also dangerous. As in eat your data and not give it back dangerous. And at least one intransigent vendor insisted that its users must use it anyway.
