Generating PDF's, newbie question

Hello,

I have a question about generating PDF:s. I need to generate PDF documents on the fly using a template wich I fill with information from a progress database. I want to publish these documents on a website and also be able to e-mail them via a batch job. Any suggestions. This should be run on Unix. Is it easiest to work with the Adobe products or are the available third party products (i.e. PDFInclude) any good?

This is to be run on Solaris and WebSpeed.

Thank you for any suggestions.

Regards Jens

Jens,

My company uses pcl2pdf, a third party piece of software that resides on our Unix server, to convert pcl documents to pdf files. We then can e-mail (as an attachment) or fax these documents to customers or internally.

I highly recommend Pcl2Pdf. You can even download a trial copy to test out before purchasing.

Here's the link for their website: http://www.visual.co.uk/pcl2pdfunix.htm

Hope this helps! Good luck!
