Hi SSuhaib,
We just did one migration from Progress 8.3C17 on MFGPRO 9.0 to Openedge 10.1C on MFGPRO eB2.1 SP5(QAD2007), Windows version.
Performance of DB
1)After running through our usual set of routine menu with migrated data records,we didnt find any significant drop in the
performance of the db . Probably the rebuilding of the indexes helped in speeding up the searching process.
Migration of Old Programs in MFGPRO 9
1) Domain field (Primary Key) were added to the old programs. There are some tables that do not contain domain field.
Leave them out. QAD do have a tool for converting non-domain to domain program. However, we did it manually via
inspecting the source code individually.
2) Due to the fact that we are implementing Japanese language(Double-byte), some of the reports tend to print incorrectly
under the GUI interface. We fixed this problem via manually amending the label data or program code.
Cheers,
lggoo
