3,000 respondents worldwide note development delays due to limited resources, lack of mobile development process, market fluctuation

With all the hype surrounding mobility these days, it’s hard to get a clear picture of what’s really going on. To that end, we recently surveyed 3,000 IT professionals to assess the adoption, trends and perceptions around mobile development. Our goal was to cut through the hype to uncover the truth about the current state of mobility.

According to our findings, the lack of established best practices for mobile app development, combined with the absence of dominant market leaders, have left many developers at the starting line of mobile projects.

In fact, as I also outlined in this blog post, a whopping 57% of developers are still brand new to mobile development or have never built a mobile app.

Despite setbacks, developers are hopeful about the promise of future technologies such as IoT, virtual reality devices and wearables.

Click here to read all of the survey findings, which reveal:

  • Common roadblocks to timely mobile app delivery
  • What developers think are top reasons and potential benefits for building mobile apps
  • Approaches and best practices for mobile app development success
