Create Database With Asian Language Support

I am using progress version 9.1A

I want to create database to store and display and print Chinese characters.

Can anyone guide me which empty database should I use.
Any other settings required? Can report builder print Chinese characters?

Any help is most appreciated.

9.1A is Stone Age software ( more than 20 years old ... ).

Nevertheless, as far as I can remember UTF-8 support for the database was added around that time. If I were you I would use the UTF one which you can find in $DLC/prolang/utf. If it is not part of you installation than your version of Progress did not support UTF-8 yet.

Progress 9.1A is ancient, obsolete and unsupported. You should not be using it to create a new database. 10.2B08 is the bare minimum, but for a new database you should be looking at 11.5 or even 11.6. Then you need to read up on code pages.
