Compaq Tru64 Vs NT/W2k

As we need to upgrade our existing server, I’ve been asked (new boss) to look at NT/W2K instead of Unix. I’m not particularly keen as we have the licenses and in-house knowledge for Tru64 (If it ain’t broke why fix it?).

Any general comments on pros and cons running Progress 9.1 (Mfg/Pro eB, 2G db, 50 concurrent users) on Win2000 would be greatly appreciated!

Our department is also considering a switch. Very frustrating. Can you believe they want to replace our steam Iron RS6000 with a windows machine.

If they want GUI let them run the client on PC's so users can have a graphical environement. The data server can still remain Unix.
