Changing the FORMAT of a field causes CRC Error?

Hi...

I got a doubt. Is there any CRC Error only if I change the FORMAT in a FIELD in the Database Schema?

I would like to extent the length of some CHARACTER FORMAT, but I wouldn't like to shutdown my Database only to do this.

Well... Maybe is a clumsy question, but maybe it can prevent a crash.

Thanks for yur time.

No, it will not.

You can, of course, easily test this sort of thing using a copy of the sports database and a trivial test program. I did not bother to do so -- so take my answer with the appropriate grain of salt ;)

I've used all my salt on the road outside to get rid of ice! The UK has none left.

My experience is that a format change doesn't create CRCs.

Jajaja!!!! So, there isn't more salt anymore!

Here in Mexico is also very cold and we started to play with snow... We even didn't know it!!! Now we are suffering low temperatures...

All es because of the Wheater Change of the World... (Excuse... I don´t know how to translate to English "Cambio Climático").

Thanks for the advise of the CRC issue!!!

I think the word you're looking for is Climate Change. Weather Change is a good alternative though - I think most people would understand. Your English is better than my Spanish! :)

Could you please send us some of your snow? The Olympics are about to start here and one of the prime venues is +5 degrees. It looks like Vancouver 2010 will be introducing new sports, like "freestyle skiing in slush". It's all very sad. But not entirely unpredictable.

I'm afraid you don't want our snow - it's all ice now. You can have the snow clouds though. *blows very hard*

2) Testing the program...
3) It works without CRC Error!!!
