XUL Rich GUI Interface

Hi All.

Has anyone looked into the possibility of using XUl (zool) in combination to create an Application web base interface for Webspeed?.

Currently I am converting our existing CHUI application to a web based one. To increase productivity of development I was thinking of using webspeed to deliver XUL pages in combination with AJAX as the behind underlaying lines of communications. AJAX to communicate either with Webspeed or WebSerivces.

Is this possible?

I haven't tried it but it should be possible. I was thinking about doing it once but got distracted...

Haven't heard alot about XUL for a long time now. Not sure XUL can seriously compete with some of the others.

The big war for the next generation of web applications and RIA's is going to be between Adobe and Microsoft.

Adobe with Flex (and the other web tools and technologies, DreamWeaver, Photoshop, Flash, ColdFusion etc.) and AIR on the desktop.

And Microsoft with Silverlight and WPF.

Personally I'm leaning towards Adobe I already use DreamWeaver and Photoshop all the time and I plan on also looking into Flex.

SAP and Salesforce are some of the companies building UI's with Flex and AIR.
