Hello,
I was curious to find out if anyone out there is using the Vertex Quantum Sales and Use Tax software (now called, Q Series) and Progress. Vertex tells me that most Progress installations that run the Vertex product usually run on some flavor of Unix (HPUX in my case) with the ISAM version of their software product.
Is there anyone out there that runs the Vertex product on, say, SQL Server but still runs their core Progress application on a Unix box? I am looking at the Progress SQL Dataserver and it looks promising for me to be able to run with this type of setup. And as I understand it I would be able to "natively" connect to SQL Server from within Progress versus some ODBC variant which I would think would be a little slower.
