Senior Progress Developer - London - Salary 35k - 40k GBP
My client is looking for an experienced Progress Developer to join & lead a
small team, working on some critical projects which will see them stay ahead
of their competitors. You must have Progress (V9) GUI/Windows programming
(min 3-4 years experience). You should also have experience of Active X/ COM
programming, particularly using Microsoft Office components. You will need
to have good database design experience and especially analysis skills.
You will ideally have experience of sales-order processing/ distribution
industries, experience in writing functional specifications and familiarity
with the whole software development cycle. You should have the ability to
deliver software on time to project deadlines. Highly desirable to have any
Visual Basic 6 or C++ but this is not essential.
Progress (V9) is their main development language and your background would
ideally be in both software house and end-user environments. With a turnover
of over 60 million and with 200+ staff, their strategy is to write all their
software in-house, writing supply chain software and linking it with their
shipping software. Benefits include 25 days holidays and private health.
They are paying between 35k to 40k GBP + bens.
