Gotcha. I'll have to look into that. It would be nice if there were templates or something that would give us a headstart. I think PCT will improve performance as long as it uses some multi-threading, and does the compilation work independent of the Eclipse IDE. The built-in compile operations are slow because they are probably doing tons of interop with Eclipse (to decorate files in the project explorer, show errors in the output console, etc). That and they are not making use of all the CPU cores.
