Hi all,

I want to ask about Installing MFG/PRO eB2.1 with OpenEdge 10.1A
on Fedora 6 or 7 on Server.
Does anyone have experience on this ? Are MFG/PRO eB2.1 and OpenEdge 10.1A are compatible with Fedora 6/7 ? How is the performance ?

I see in QAD Master Platform Availability & Compatibility the OS Supported by QAD for MFG/PRO eB2.1 and OpenEdge 10.1A almost all are Server OS.

give your opinion on me.

Thanks in advance for your reply.

Hi Symelt

I am using Fed 6 as test platform. I use it in combination with progress 9 and OpenEdge to test Unix scripts and full MFG/Pro installations.
From 7.3 till eB2.1

Customers of mine use it also for testing purposes and development.
Until now have I used only "official" releases as Server platform.

Be aware that until Fed 6 you have to use a special softlink to make Progress up and running.

First lookup /usr/lib/libstdc++*.so.*
Then create a soft link like
ln -s /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.6 /usr/lib/libstdc++-libc6.2-2.so.3

Depending on the Core version replace so.6 by a lower or higher library id.
