Merant ODBC connection was working until a firewall was installed.
Port 20001 is being used on both the SCO and Windows box. This was setup in the services files.
Port 20001 was opened up on the firewall.
Here is what I noticed. The transmission packet makes it to the SCO box and then the process hangs. The destination port is 20001. However, the source port seems to be a random number.
I believe an ACK packet is sent from the SCO box, but hangs because the random port is not open on the firewall.
I am using a program to view the transmission packets.
As a test, all ports were opened and everything worked fine again.
The main question: Is there anyway to control the source port.
The server has to be locked down because of hackers.
The goal is to have the source port 20001.
