I'm investigating if the developer studio is something i should be able to access with my current (Progress 11) database. i don't see the directories for it, but it may be that my dev box doesnt have a full install.

I believe it's an etra license. It is definitely something that needs to be selected at install time, and it's only available on Windows.

There is no such thing as "the standard OpenEdge package". There is a price list with various OpenEdge products and product components; PDSOE (Progress Developer Studio for OpenEdge) is one of those. You get whichever products you pay for.

You can run %DLC%\bin\showcfg to list the products that are installed on your machine. Or check with whoever buys your licenses to see what they bought.
