How to revert *.r files back to *.p/w ?

Officially there is no way to de-compile a .r file - Progress does not provide any tool to do that.

In the past one Progress Partner - DotR Limited in UK - offered such a service but AFAIK they do not anymore.

DotR offered decryption of source encrypted with the Progress xcode utility (provided that you could prove you owned it).

There have been a couple of decompilers floating around over the years. "PDECODE" posts about his every now and again. He also does decryption. I have no idea how good the quality is -- I try not to lose my source ;)

Hi grunnpi/ PDECODE,

Seems like there might have some blockage to the website by my anti virus.

IIRC, there was a guy in Brisbane who wrote a partially functioning decompiler. Looked interesting but I didn't get very far with it.

A guy where wrote an P code decrypter in 5 minutes and it is 100% reliable. It relies on the default encryption key, though. Without that, you are in SuperComputer territory, I think.

Encrypted source isn't useful without the key. If someone is distributing it they are also distributing they key....
