How can i Connect WS 3.1B Agent to a Database in Unix

I have the connection Via Tcp via Cleint/Server but when I put the parameters int th progress explorer -N tcp -H x -S x -db X the conection is not available an the error is 6019 ?

Any body Help Me Please!

Some questions.

I assume you have the appropriate Progress licence on the UNIX server to be able to do a client server connection.

Have you checked that the server name resolves properly from the client machine ?

Is the messenger setup properly ? The error indicates a messenger problem ?

Have you run thru the WSMAdmin tests ?

Maybe it's the order of working?

We connect to a database on a unix system like follows
-db dbname -H hostname -S servicename -N TCP ...

Your order seems to be backwards ... maybe that's what's going wrong ?
