Deploying DB developed in v9 on a v8 system

We have switched our developement system from v6 Progress to v9. We have many customers with systems that are using v8 progress. After making DB changes on v9 and building the "df" file to update the DB we found that they will not work on v8 Progress. Is there anyway to create a "df" file on v9 that can be read on a v8 system?

NOT a CHANCE. Prowin 32 is completely different. For starters V8 uses ADM(1). For the V9 Prowin 32 there were a complete REWRITE. Not just of the ADM, how it became ADM 2. The language itself, it wasn't a rewrite specificaly of the language, just a development, with stability. The language has developed 'on-the-fly' to O E 10 now which is really excellent and stable. There are new mecanisms for V9 + that has been introduced into the language. The PUBLISH and SUBSCRIBE mecanism for starters, V9 has it, V8 <<< can not handle these new methods. The src would just fall over. Specifically if you have the SRC for V8 PSC CAN be consulted to for conversion, or you can employ PSC consultants/developers to create new applicable src. There is no ECONOMICAL + EASY method for conversion. It is going to cost to bring upto V9, though why bother if you are going to comit to the budget why not go further to Open Edge 10. This is the latest offering AND has new methods + advancements.
Hope this helps.
V9 is getting on, even now. The future is bright, the future is O E 10.

mpowell -> you should read the post ... the original poster didn't say anything about the application. DB only!

You can just edit your DF file.
