"Crypt" Function in Linux

CRYPT function is not working in Linux. Can any body help me... i want to make encrption in Linux..

He means the Progress 4gl language. "ABL" is a silly marketing* inspired re-branding of the term "4gl".

You're running version 9 so it's still called "4gl". In OpenEdge 10 it is known as "ABL". ("OpenEdge" is a slightly less silly re-branding of "Progress".)
