Question Comments in the ubroker.properties file?

Does anyone happen to know off the top of their heads if the ubroker.properties file supports inline comments after an entry?

In other words, is this legal syntax:

srvrLogThreshold=600000000 #600MB
srvrNumLogFiles=0 # no limit​

I've no idea to be honest. I've not seen it done. Doesn't mean you can't. Have you tried it?

While you can manually edit the ubroker.properties file I would not recommend you to. Usually - depending on the version of Progress/OpenEdge you are using - you would edit the services in the Progress / OpenEdge explorer. That way it is ensured that the ubroker.properties file will stay "well-formed", meaning syntactically okay.

But, to be hones, I did never try to add a comment to a line.

Solved. Yes, you can add inline comments.

After I make any manual changes to the ubroker.properties file I always test with mergeprop

After all, real men don't use a GUI. For us it's vi or nothing!
