Can you record if your program crashes??

Hi all,

This may sound like an oxy-moron, but when a program crashes can it recognize it crashed and record it by writing something to a file or something?? Maybe not only crashing, but like an un-recognized way of quiting. This doesn't not include manully exiting a program with like ALT+F4 or something like that. I'm talking about in Windows of course.
