Can sqlload use a different date format

Have a csv with dates in format YYYYMMDD that I want to load, but sqlload wants MM/DD/YYYY.

Is there a way to get it use a different date format. I have tried changing the DATE FORMAT header at the top of the dsql file, but that didn't seem to work.
