AdminService Strange Behaviour

Hi All,

When we start our Windows 2000 Server, the Admin Service is not automatically started (it's defined as a manual service). We have 57 processes running in memory at this time.

When then we manually start the Admin Service, which is supposed to start 2 databases, we have then 74 processes.

The processes added are :

- java.exe (x4, about 60 Mo in mem :moody1: )
- _mprosrv.exe (x6, about 17 Mo in mem)
- _proapsv.exe (x5, about 16 Mo in mem)
- _mprshut.exe (x2, about 4 Mo in mem)

17 processes added and near 100 Mo of memory used, which is a heavy charge for our server.

My wish is to get information about the elements that generally needs such processes (for example, what uses java.exe ?) and if we encounter a "normal" situation or if it's recommanded to remove the AdminService and re-install it following KB #19718 ?

Thanx for your help !
