How can I add a new field to a present table in the database?

Simplest is to use the data dictionary. But it depends on your situation: Is the change only for 1 database or do you maintain several database which need the same schema, can it be done offline or must it be done online, etc...

But there are several menu's in Data Dictionary. How can I do this particular job?

Request you to explain the steps in detail.
The table name = acct-profile.
Need to add a logical field = xyz.

I can shut down that particular database (dims2).

How to add a new field to present table?

Hello friends,

I am working on Progress V 9.1D.
There are several databases like dims1, dims2, dims5, audit, pt-empty etc. connected at a time in our system.

I need to add a new logical field (xyz) to a table 'acct-profile' which is under 'dims2' database.

Can anyone please let me know the detailed process to add a new field to a batabase table 'acct-profile'?
