9.1D offline backup difficulties...

I'm trying to start after imaging.....after reading everything I've found on the subject I'm stuck on performing an offline backup....

My database server has been stopped,
Then after doing a...

probkup db-name device-name

db-name = 'vtc'
device-name = '/u/onlinebkup/vtc.bkup'

I get...

** Cannot find or open file /u/onlinebkup/vtc.bkup.db, errno = 2. (43)
There is no server for database /u/onlinebkup/vtc.bkup. (1423)

Any ideas would be appreciated.

offline backup

Are you giving the full pathname to your database?

offline bakup is

probkup <DB Name> <Device Name>

FOr online it is

probkup online <DB name> <device name>

Chek the syntax once again.

Should be some silly error.

Progress Tech support have solved it......I was trying to backup to the directory /u/onlinebkup/......as this directory includes 'online' the probkup command gets confused? Nice....thanks for responding
