In NON-Smart Object, you can set the FGCOLOR on ROW-DISPLAY using a simple ASSIGN Tblname.Fieldname:FGCOLOR IN BROWSE br-Name. We don't do Smart Obj, so this may not apply at all. Sorry if that's the case. HTH

Dump & Load - that's a good solution. Out DB's are too large now and that would have been a last resort. Maintenance contracts are quite costly. But I've had very good experiences with Progress tech support. I'd say they are one of the better ones in the industry.

I would call Progress Tech Support on that one.
