Hi
I have been trying to look for Progress comparisons lately. How does progress 9.1D using the GUI compare to MSSQL2005 and Oracle with .NET front ends and Open edge 10. I am not interested in knowing that it is niche and the amount of jobs in it but technically. But issues of compatibility...
Our progress database in on our Unix server and our GUI application have been written our Windows server.
Our connection file is as follows
-db /data/ty/misc1
-N tcp
-S misc-srv
-H 10.2.100.1
but quite often when handling a fair amount of data it becomes really slower and even with small...
Probably a simple one though can someone tell me how once the return key is pressed go to a previously tabbed field.
eg Fill-in1 - Return takes data in uses it tabs to fill-in2 --- all ok
but once fill-in2 - return trigger the data is taken in BUT it tabs back to fill-in1.
Everything usually is compiled.
def var a as char ..... etc are all ok and we have all our programs like that its just parameters.
thanks

Thanks Knut although its two different progress installs i have. Darrell if you dont have anything good to say maybe you shouldn't say anything at all.
anyone else got any ideas.
This may sound crazy but when even trying a simple statement this wont compile in either progress 8 in unix and 9 in windows.
DEFINE INPUT PARAMETER int-param AS INTEGER.
DISPLAY int-param LABEL "Integer input param"
WITH SIDE-LABELS.
THIS IS THE ERROR I GET
