Sysprogress permissions problems

Folks

I would love to know why if I convert a db from v8 to v9, I can SQL92 connect as sysprogress with any password and do not need to have any entries in the _user table.

However, if I have a straight v9 database it would appear that I need to have _user entries for sysprogress to be able to see anything.

This is causing much gnashing of teeth as I have a *profound* aversion to using Progress schema level security due to the concept of lost passwords. This is a problem when you have hundreds of sites y'see, and you do not want a default one.

This is a little know "issue". If you convert you can use sysprogress. If you create a database in V9 you can use the user-id who created the database without a password to do the same stuff as sysprogress. Or is it the other way around. sorry I can't remember.

Its a good one though
