Has anyone experince with the new sql-92 engine? Is this a real sql-database that supports stored-procedures? I now work with progress v8.2 and have a lot of problems with alias for table-names. Is this solved in the new version? I have also seen problems with using views, both in functionality and performance. Have anyone tried this in the new engine?

Can't really tell you about specifics, all I can say is that you are probably going to be disappointed.

I feel Progress doesn't really throw its weight behind this product and haven't spent much time on it.

I get a feeling very few people are using it and that the ones that are don't make many demands on it.

Our company has registered many problems with the engine, some of them completely obvious.

Some of the sever performance problems have not been fixed and Progress have just shrugged their shoulders saying these are not bugs but are performance enhancements!

YMMV
