The other day I had the pleasure of speaking at the Application Developers Alliance App strategy workshop on Bridging the App Gap: Crossing the Chasm Between IT and Business. It was exciting to see every type of developer, from students to professional developers with a few years experience to entrepreneurs and enterprise developers – all working on apps in the market. The most important takeaway is that they all face the same challenge – they need to get their apps to the market FAST!
As you can see from the photo from the event below, I was able to present a quick snapshot of the overall market and top challenges developers face when building apps. It’s no surprise many of them were interested in Progress® Rollbase®, the low-code rapid application development solution in the Progress® Pacific™ platform. After my presentation I was able to speak one on one with a lot of the new developers at the event and they loved the ability to build, deploy and take their application to the market quickly, with very little out of pocket cost to them—and minimal coding.
Overall, it was exciting to be there and talk to new and more established developers and hear about their excitement around building applications that impact business. Be on the lookout for us at future Application Developers Alliance meetings in 2015. Hope to see you there!
