    Simon, Thanks for your response. However, we are not backing up to tape. (Well we are, but that is not the process that is taking so long.) We are backing up to disk. If -bf is primarily to improve disk to tape backup, it will not help. I will look into the possibilities, though.... Thanks...

    Thanks all for your help. Yes, I am using editting blocks. I found that because I am defaulting to zero in the numerical fields that I had to remove the 'AUTO-RETURN' in the frame definition. I guess it was considering the field all ready filled in, therefore, it was jumping to the next field...
