We are seeking a full time, permanent Senior Progress Programmer/Analyst. This position is located in Buffalo Grove, IL (North Chicago Suburb). This individual will be providing 4th generation coding, maintenance, upgrades, problem management, problem reporting, application development and application enhancements using Progress. Will be interfacing with database administrators, end users, vendors and ERP providers as needed. This is not a "heads down" programming position; this person will be truly involved in the software development full life cycle, including mentoring. 3-5 years out this individual will move into the role of Application Manager.
Candidates must have at least 10 years of progressive experience as a full life cycle software developer. This experience must include 3-5 years of Progress 4GL development, version 6.5 or higher. In addition to the development experience, this individual must understand to roles of a System Administrator and DBA in respect to utilizing these individual to solve problems.
ERP experience is a plus. Unix experience is a plus. Web experience such as Webspeed, Java, HTML and/or Microsoft web tools are a plus. Previous experience as a DBA is a plus.
