Answered Trying To Install Progress Developers Studio For Openedge

So I'm trying to install Progress Developers Studio for OpenEdge (Student Edition) on my Windows 10 64bit laptop

I already have OpenEdge 11.6 Webspeed Workshop installed, however I don't know if that is causing me an issue. The setup process starts up normally and just quits on me no errors, nothing.

What could be the issue?

The classroom edition assumes that there is no other progress installed. It craps out if there is.

Error messages and diagnostics are deliberately suppressed in an effort to make the install process simple and painless.

Damit! I that's my chance of getting a free version of PDSOE. Why could it not tell me that I have existing products already installed. Guess I'm going to have to restructure my licencing.

Is your existing install 32-bit? If it is, you could uninstall it, install Classroom Edition, and then reinstall WebSpeed Workshop.

Alternatively, you could create a Windows VM or Docker container on your laptop to segregate the products so they aren't aware of each other.
