Symix 4.0 on OpenEdge???

Has anyone attempted to recompile Symix 4.0 from Progress 8.3 to a recent version of OpenEdge? We are trying to overcome the 1.7GB/32Bit memory limitation with 8.3.

If you have source and can recompile it would almost certainly be a straightforward port.
