What are the reasons that progress database shut down automatically ? Actually i am trying to find out all this reason Can anybody help me?

1.In what Cases/Reasons database shut down automatically ?
2. Os backups Vs progress backups?
3. how we can convert and revert database by using different utility?
4. If name server wont start then what to do?
5. if web speed broker wont's start then what to do?

Please Anybody Explain me briefly coz there is no documentation of above clarification i found till now.
