    Hai all..

I have a datbase named dsSHP. I have taken an online back up using the command

$DLC/bin/probkup online dsSHP /ttg/cm/dts/dsSHP_28JAN11 from linux enviroment .

Now i need to restore this back in a windows machine. I hve used the command prorest dsSHP d:/dsSHP_28JAN11

But its ends up in error as : Area number mismatch, database has 6 ,backup has 0 .<1618>

    why why? please help.

Probkup & prorest are not compatible across different operating systems (or versions of Progress).

You cannot restore a Linux backup on a Windows machine.

You must restore on the same OS using the same version of Progress that the backup was made with.
