Hi Chris,

I am working on Progress for over 6 years, from V6 to V8. It is very difficult to find Progress reference book in Hong Kong, may be it is because Progress is not very popular in Hong Kong. I was working in UNIX base in the past, but now I have to work in NT platform and my db is in UNIX platform. I found there are some difficulty for me on using the GUI interface with Progress. I know there is a book named Special Edition Using Progress V8 by QUE. But I've found many on-line book store all of them are out of stock. Can you give me some suggestion how can I find some useful information in this case, thank you!

The Using Progress 8 book by QUE has been out-of-print for a while now.... and there are no plans for reprints since it is now out of date and the first printing did not sell as well as they expected.

However, there are some other good resources for reading about Progress. The Progress documentation is actually a really good place to start. They now have all it the manuals available as PDF files here: http://www.progress.com/v9/documentation/start.htm

There are also some books by John Campbell available from White Star Software: http://www.wss.com/publications.html

And finally for database administration and performance tuning, check out Dan Foreman's books at: http://www.bravepoint.com/scripts/wsisa.dll/WService=dans/login

Hope this helps :)
