Sr. Programmer/Analyst -PROGRESS

Our Home Office in Phoenix, AZ seeks an IT professional to design and create software solutions within a service oriented architecture using Progress development tools.
Responsibilities:
· Responsible for planning and leading strategic software development activities within the Application Development team which include application development, maintenance, and enhancement projects utilizing various Progress platforms
· Provide leadership to project teams (technical and functional professionals)
· Work with a small team of developers in evaluating the capabilities of technology to meet business needs, partly by capitalizing on emerging technologies and partly by adapting existing technologies to the needs of the customer
· Maintain effective, productive and professional working relationships with internal and external customers and project management office
· Develop, document and maintain best practices, programming standards, procedures, application quality objectives and “lessons learned”, including metrics for assessing progress
· Ensure that systems are designed and developed in a way that complies with architectural standards in accordance with evolving methodologies and practices.
Qualified candidate will possess 6+ years’ experience designing and developing in Progress technologies and 5+ years’ experience designing software solutions using UML and OO methodologies. This position also requires 2+ years’ experience in a lead developer capacity, 6+ years of demonstrated professional growth and 6+ years of business application design and systems development knowledge, including implementation and installation. Knowledge of Progress AppServers, NameServer, ProxyGen, Web Services, Progress ADM2 Smart Objects and Open Edge 10. Demonstrated knowledge of web services architecture, project management, quality management and change management is required. A BS degree in Computer Science or Information Technology, or equivalent experience is required.
