License file

Hello,

Recently, I got this error message "The server of the system has no more resources - try a larger -n"
I guess this has to do with process/user limit...I checked the license file and it has reached 65.. I cleared all the users but still it did not allow me to access the database..Then I had to kill all the database processes manually and restart the database ...
I would like to know on what basis the process count is arrived ? Is it the number of users/no of sessions..?? Ideally, when we get this message, what we need to do ??

Thanks in advance,

You wouln't happen to be using the -Mnb startup parm would you?
We have had issue's where our -n was set high enough, but if we hit the limit from -Mnb, then users would remain in a pending state as seen via promon, R&D, status, servers?

Thanks for your reply...
Right now, this is how my license file looks like..

11/23/104 16:00:00 35 20 23 18 18 19 16 2 4 2

The # of total connections is 20 . This looks OK.

But when we faced the problem, the license file looked like

11/21/104 10:00:00 35 50 55 50 0 4 0 50 51 50..

Did the batch connections (50) cause the problem ?? The other problem was I was not able to run promon when this happened.. when I run "promon <dbname>" , the command just hung and did not get executed...

We are not starting up using these parameters..

Thanks ...
