Another option is to use a find trigger on the table.
on find of <i>table name</i>:
if can-find record with same details
return error.
end.
The records you find and return error on will not be displayed in the browse.

You are not allowed to connect to a database in $DLC.

You cannot connect to a database in the progress install directory. Make a copy somewhere else and run proserve against that DB.
For V9, if you use any activex objects in the code you will need to make sure prox.dll (progress/bin) is registered (regsvr32) on the client machine. Apart from that I don't know of any other problems.
